Winter

Is the time for reflection and contemplation. If we look at nature we notice that everything seems to stop growing, seeds have now fallen into the earth, the ground gets covered in morning dew, the wind blows, the air is sharp, rain falls and the days are shorter, nights are longer and our energy reflects this. We need to nourish ourselves with warming foods, roasted vegie salads, hearty broths, stewed fruits, spices and herbs to heal and replenish our bodies. Warm oil massage to stimulate our skin and lymphatic system. We use our physical yoga practice to bring warmth into our bodies, our meditation to slow down and honour this season by breathing space into our busy lives. As those seeds that are buried deep in the ground awaiting spring to be born so to can the ideas you are sowing in this time contemplation.
