As a parent do you feel that you are in constant battle with media and the rush of life? Statics show children are spending more time indoors then out. Our lives have become busier than ever. Children are often unintentionally drawn into our chaos and are rushed from one moment to the next. Day’s are spend at school and long day care learning the essentials of literacy, mathematics followed by after school activities, homework and screen time. So where do we find time to teach our children to simply be with their internal world?

Well the answer is yoga?

Yoga allows time away from media and this hectic pace it encourages playful engagement with themselves, loved ones and their imagination. It sparks curiosity, develops flexibility and helps assist in the functioning of healthy body systems.

We often forget to teach our children how to take care of their minds and emotions. They can be an

Yoga is the glue that connects everything.

“How is Yoga the glue?” you ask.

Well this ancient practice has been around for many years. It builds concentration through mind focus postures and meditation. A clear mind is a peaceful one ready to learn and explore.

It creates confidence and higher self esteem through promoting a positive mindset.

It gives permission for relaxation which allows stillness in the whole body. With calming mental state children are able to listen to their intuition. A state of deep peace helps them to cope with the rush of life.

Yoga promotes the physical development of balance and flexibility in a gentle way. It encourages muscle toning and strength safely that will help with all other physical activities.

Yoga teaches the importance of breathing and as a tool for coping with emotional and environmental challenges, such as anxiety and asthma.

Quite simply general wellbeing improves, children become happy and lighter. Body systems work effectively and the central nervous system is calm bringing clarity and positive mood.

Yoga allows children to harness their personal power and see all their beauty. So if you want happy healthy kids make yoga the activity at the top of your list today. Remember you never regret coming to yoga.
