Self-care is something that has been practiced for many years but in modern times it has become an idea of self-indulgence.

In Ayurveda it is a way of looking after your mind/ body, a responsibility. Preventing the onset of disease.

It is time to look at self- care as a necessity rather than an indulgence. Establishing nourishing self-care practices creates an environment where we are grounded, less stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Instead, we are filled with strategies and tools to cope with life. Through self-love, acceptance, and care.

In Ayurveda (very simply - means to know your life it is an ancient healing system originating in India over 5000 thousand years ago. It treats the whole body and mind searching for the root cause.)

One of the most important aspects is to prevent disease and create a balanced healthy mind body spirit.

So how do we achieve this?

With simple daily rituals that form the foundation of good health and a positive mind.

In Ayurveda we call this dinacharya.

Dinacharya is a Sanskrit term for daily Yogic and Ayurvedic rituals. Regular practice of these rituals supports a life of physical health, vitality through routine, nourishment, and detoxification.

Our daily routine becomes the foundation to living a content and beautiful life based around our daily activities and the cycles of Mother nature.

When we establish a daily routine, we begin to create a balance in the body as we eat, sleep at specific times creating guides for the body to live by.

Here' s a guide on how to start your day

YOU ARE READY FOR THE MOST AMAZING DAY!

Remember true self care is all about that taking care of yourself and making YOU a priority. Be kind to yourself as you begin to implement these changes to your routines. Take small steps without expectation of implementing everything at once.

Daily routine is a guide to live a more present and ground life. Adjust your routines to suit your life/ family and work commitments. The balance is to keep the routine as consistent as possible but not be so rigid that there is no room for being spontaneous.

Always start by implementing one thing and let that slowly, naturally become a habit before implementing another. There is no rush it is all part of the journey so experiments and see what works for you and enjoy the process. Overdoing will cause more stress and anxiety so just do what you can and be happy with that.

Most importantly - small steps are the most important steps and before you know it your dinacharya will become second nature these rituals will be ones you cannot live without.

True self care is an act of self Love.
