How to live a life of Vitality?

We are the creators of our own life. Each day we rise to a brand new day and we make choices that lead us closer or further away from the life we want to live.


Vitality is described as having a meaningful existence a state of being strong and active.

Needless to say the last 24 months have been most challenging for so many of us. And I have notice first hand how this has effected the lives of women and children. Increased stress levels, changing work environment, balancing all facets of being a "modern women".

Tiredness boarding on the edge of burnout, negative thought patterns and emotions, inconsistent diet, personal relationships all drain our energy. This is so very common and when we are in this state its hard to image how to have a energised life of meaning.


It takes commitment, understanding, resilience and a lot of self love to create a life of vitality. You don't just wake up and one day you feel this way.

But with self compassion and courage you can change your thinking and build a life of richness and joy.


In eastern philosophy vitality translates to life force or "prana", "chi: or "Qi".

Energy is experienced as a constant flow through all living things. Imagine a river flowing without restriction after rain. This is how we want our energy to be. However due to circumstance energy can become supressed, blocked and this is greatly dependant of life's circumstance, lifestyle, health conditions and trauma.


So how can you increase your vitality on a daily basis.


Here are my top tips.


  1. Move your body with kindness - exercise is proven to increase energy and release positive chemicals to lift your mood. It stimulates your lymphatic system to flush out toxins, builds your immunity, strengthen your muscles, bones and organs. I always recommend choosing exercise that nourished and doesn't deplete you. So look at your schedule and choose exercise that your find enjoyable.

2. Create healthy habits - eat three wholefood meals a day a regular times. Create a supportive sleep routine - rise by 6am in bed before 10pm, put your phone on flight mode.

3. Incorporate Mindful practices - this is so important so you have coping techniques when life challenges you. Meditate, breathe, immerse yourself in nature, journal.

4. Create positive relation ships - surround yourself with people that treat you with respect and kindness. Notice how you treat others. Create meaningful relationships with in your workplace with firm boundaries and excellent communications.


5. Spiritual Practices - often overlooked but extremely important to manage stress and anxiety. Mantra meditation is invaluable to rest your mind in healing mantras and learn that you are so much more then your thoughts. Find your passion and work on your purpose in life.


It takes time to make changes, so don't give up. Most importantly taking small steps and implement one change at a time until it becomes a habit before then moving on to the next.
